# Profanity Filter

The Profanity filter enables you to allow or disallow words in your personalization experience. By default, all words are allowed unless you explicitly add them to the Profanity Filter.

The Profanity Filter needs to be configured in each template and designated to the corresponding personalization field.

There are two options on the Profanity Filter page:

* **Allow List:** This enables you to add specific words that you want to explicitly allow.
* **Block List:** Enables you to add words that you do not want users to use.

2. In the **Allow Word** field, enter the word you want to add and click **Add Word**.

### Add Words to Block List

To add words to the Block List:

1. From the Dashboard, click **Settings > Profanity Filter > Block List**.
2. In the **Block Word** field, enter the word you want to add and click **Add Word**.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://vu-custom.gitbook.io/vu-custom/vu-admin-platform-management/profanity-filter.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
